Complete 14 Standard is a good choice. It also includes kontact which I'd also like to get.I've heard that NI aren't really developing Reaktor anymore and putting resources into Kontact instead. Is there any truth to this? 0 While I am sure that you are right that N.I. is putting a lot of resources into Kontakt and considers it the N.I. flagship app (since most expansions sold is for Kontakt so it's a big earner also indirectly !) then I don't know if there are any truth to the rumors about Reaktor that you mention. What I can say is that despite appearances then N.I. would do very wrong if they should retire Reaktor and it would create a huge backlash so that would be a very serious mistake by N.I. . Personally I think that N.I. ought to make the Building using ready made Blocks a lot more accessible (as seen with e.g. Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular) and put some effort into making more ready made blocks so that that part would look a lot easier to the beginners. However , as I wrote over in the other thread then when you dive deeper then Reaktor starts to really shine and apart from the making Reaktor more approachable to beginners then N.I. also ought to somehow shed more light on the transition between different levels of use as described by Sunborn and ColB in the other thread ! 0 I wonder if the relatively new Blocks system within Reaktor speaks to your notion that a simpler modular system like Cherry Audios is where NI is heading with Reaktor. What is it like for CPU usage compared to the traditional Reaktor set-up? 0 colB Member Posts: 1,035 Guru Blocks isn't really new- came with R6 in 2015. Although front panel patching is relatively recent. Eurorack style modular is relatively popular right now, and stuff like VCV is fuelled by that. Blocks was a little before the buzz there, but also not quite the same thing, although I'm not sure how you would make it much easier?Reaktor can't be a 'simpler' modular system, that would be something else entirely, and doesn't really make business sense IMO, who knows when Modular goes out of vogue? when it does, Reaktor is still viable, but something like cherry, or VCV, less so - that's all they do. Reaktor is more though, it's a dataflow style development environment - you can make all sorts, monolithic polysynths, midi processors, experimental FX systems, games!! whatever you like really. It's a shame that resources seem currently limited for further Reaktor development, but that doesn't mean its being retired. It's a mature application, and because it's a platform, new stuff can keep coming

Having access to multiple sampled instruments and sounds is essential to creating music in the music production world. No doubt you’ve heard of Kontakt Factory, as it’s used globally. However, there are many software products similar to Kontakt, so you might be left wondering what makes it unique, and is it any good?Kontakt Factory Library is not only good, it’s one of the most popular software products for sample-based instruments. The newest version includes over 1,000 instruments and over 43 GB of pre-recorded sounds, making it an excellent option for music producers who need access to various sounds.Read on to learn more about the Kontakt library contents, the difference between the free and full version, the overall best libraries included, and how to navigate the library and get the most benefits out of it.What Is Kontakt? What Makes Kontakt Factory So Good?Band CollectionChoir CollectionOrchestral CollectionSynth CollectionUrban Beats CollectionVintage CollectionWorld CollectionLooking to Customize Your KONTAKT Library Collections Even More?OptionsDrum and Percussion KitIs There a Free Version? Are There Better Libraries Than Kontakt Factory Library?Spitfire Audio Albion OneOutput ExhaleEmbertone Joshua Bell ViolinEvolution Hollowbody BluesFinal ThoughtsSourcesRelated posts:What Is Kontakt?Native Instruments, a developer, manufacturer, and supplier of music software and hardware, created the software “Kontakt” in 2002. They have been producing software for music production and sound design worldwide ever since.Native Instruments developed several other pieces of software along with Kontakt, the first being Generator in 1996, which later formed their product Reaktor. Along with Kontakt, Reaktor is one of the most popular Native Instruments software options. The main difference between Kontakt and Reaktor is that while Kontakt’s primary purpose is a sampler, Reaktor offers sampling along with the ability to build your own ensembles.Though it is not as advanced, Kontakt is an excellent option for people who need access to several sounds and instruments but don’t want to delve too deeply into sound design. What Makes Kontakt Factory So Good?Kontakt Factory Library’s full version contains seven different categories containing pre-recorded samples and instruments. The program separates the categories into Kontakt Instrument collections, and each collection offers additional features. With these vast collections, a producer and creator can access an incredible number of instruments and legendary sounds to help make their music more rounded and rich. This is Kontakts biggest draw – having access to such a wide variety of sounds. Where can I find a list of the Reaktor Instruments which I understand is 80 now? 0 Best Answers colB Member Posts: 1,035 Guru No you're not missing anything, an appropriately clever user could have come up with Prism, Monark, Super8, or whatever else... but that's like saying a 'user' of MS Visual C++ could have come up with Grand Theft Auto or Starfield... it's true, but it's maybe missing the point. Core is limited in some ways, but you really can implement DSP algorithms from scratch, and they will sound the same as if they were written in C++ (or whatever other language). HOWEVER, most of the stuff in the user library uses factory library DSP components, like oscillators and filters, so could sound like Reaktor... not all though, there are some 'users' who scratch build the DSP for their creations. And the more recent core based factory stuff is very good and also more extensible, to possible to still end up with unique sounds just by configuring it differently... so toolkits rather than monolithic units for filters etc. 1 «12»Answers Sunborn NKS User Library Mod Posts: 3,454 mod There is no such list, or at least is not something you can find easily. However, there are 77 instruments, effects and various other units, only in the Reaktor Factory Library. Then, there are the more "famous" ensembles (like Monark or Prism) which are independent from the library. Those are about 15 to 17. Then there are the Blocks... how many are exactly i don't know. Not many thoughAnd then, there are the User Library Ensembles, which contain, 3734 instruments, 911 effects and 847 blocks, among other things! Finally, there is an unknown number (big one though) of 3rd party developers who create Reaktor ensembles, both paid and free, old and new. Bottom line is: There are thousands out there and their exact number is impossible to be found. :-) 0 Thanks Sunborn. So the'' famous'' ensembles like Monark and Prism, are they included in Reaktor? If so do you know which ones?Native Instruments doesn't even seem to cover all these, just the ones that come with the extended komplete packages which are substantially more. 0 Sunborn NKS User Library Mod Posts: 3,454 mod Monark and Prism and all other similar ensembles are separate product and not included in Reaktor, however if you buy a bundle (such as Komplete) it includes some of those as well. From NI and 3rd parties as content. NI have also shown their commitment by pushing through the recent update to apple silicon native compatibility, that shouldn't be underestimated in terms of the cost. If NI didn't value Reaktor, they would just have shelved it right there! We'll have to wait and see over the next few years, what NI do if we get to a point where the non scalable GUI becomes completely unusable, then we'll see again if they are ready to push through some more updates, or transition to something different. Who knows what will happen - there are way too many unknowns. It might fade away silently, or keep battling on through adversity, or even fight back to be the main flagship again, who knows! 1 Thank you for sharing your insight again. Without wanting to nitpick (as you like to do yourself 😉 😋😁) then , quote : "Reaktor can't be a 'simpler' modular system" , then perhaps it is too long time since you tried e.g. VM ? I think that the module patching interface of VM where a lot is easier defined (e.g. draw a midi cable to a midi in on module) appear as more approachable than that of Reaktor module patching. Mind you , I do understand that one may have to strike some compromises with respect to design to accommodate the great versatility that Reaktor possess with respect to also providing ability to program in 'Primary' and 'Core' (hope that these are the correct expressions) , and even when in modular patching in Reaktor and one click the diagram mode button so it shows the diagram below then that also shows how superior Reaktor suddenly looks. And it also generally leads the way to why Reaktor is really superior when you dive deeper down ! But I also still will maintain that the , let's call it, simplicity of e.g. VM to some extend makes it at least look as if easier to approach ! 0 And aren't all the synths(that aren't Kontact based) made via the Reaktor architecture? In theorie couldn't a user have come up with somthing like Prism or Monark or am I missing something? 0 This discussion has been closed. Crash. I have saved the crash report, let me know if you want it. 0 Massive X doesn't have a standalone application, it's only available as a plug-in.I tested again on my M1 laptop. Massive X loads fine in both Rosetta and ARM native mode. Not sure why it crashes or why it gives you these error messages. Let's focus on Massive X at first.Delete these folders:Mac HD > Users > Username > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Massive XMac HD > Users > Username > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Komplete KontrolNote: the User Library folder is hidden. To access it, click on Go in the menu bar and press down the Alt key. You'll now find the Library entry in the menu: Now reinstall the Massive X Factory Library in Native Access. (Also give Full DIsk Access to Native Access while we're at it).Open Komplete Kontrol in standalone in Rosetta mode. Let the plug-in scan go its way. When it's done, try to load a Massive X preset from the left browser, also try to load a preset from the right menu: If that works out, now close Komplete Kontrol and open it in ARM native mode. It should rescan the plug-ins again. Try to load a preset from the browser and from the menu.If everything is workin there, try to load Logic in Rosetta mode, check Massive X as a plug-in, Massive X in a Komplete Kontrol plug-in, then close and open in ARM mode. Now for Reaktor 6, you can delete this folder: Mac HD > Users > Username > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Reaktor 6Reinstall the Reaktor Factory Library in Native Access.Open Komplete Kontrol in Rosetta mode and check if you can load from the right browser and the left menu. 2 tymes2 Member Posts: 24 Member Wow, what a comprehensive response. Did exactly as written, deleted folders, restarted and launched Native Access (NA). Massive X still shows up as "installed". I'll try a reinstall anyway, as I'm running out of choices. Will report back. Thanks for now! 1 tymes2 Member Posts: 24 Member So I did a reinstall via NA. In Maschine 2, it shows up as an instrument, allows browsing and loading just fine. Launched Logic, found a failed validation - so M X was at least seen - and chose to reset the whole plugin validation thing. Restarted Logic and voila - Massive X. Loads and plays. Happy camper here - thanks a lot, Jeremy!!!👍 Cheers! 1 tymes2 Member Posts: 24 Member Now I tried Reaktor, KK in ARM Mode crashed the Scan App, in Rosetta it crashed again. Crash Report says RAUM was the culprit. After that, KK launched and Reaktor was available, allowing me to load presets. Also I had R6 available in Logic (w. Rosetta), loading presets and all worked. Again, thanks Jeremy for your support! Also, thanks Kymeia for taking the time to respond! 1 @tymes2 Ah great. reaktor factory library manual. blocks reaktor blocks manual reaktor blocks framework manual reaktor blocks quick start. building building in core building in primary. reaktor 5 documentationComments
