To breed a female. That means she should be at least 18 months of age and possibly older. How do you know if a dog mating is successful?Allowing the male and female to have more than one mating session over a few days will ensure more chance of a successful mating. A sign of a successful mating is when the male and female readily accept each other and become “tied together’.How do you know if two dogs have mated? The most obvious sign your dogs mated is that your female becomes pregnant. If the dam’s heat cycle ends, their nipples begin to swell, and they show less interest in food within the first week or two after the suspected mating, contact your veterinarian as there’s a strong chance the female dog is now pregnant. How long does it take for a male dog to release sperm?Mating takes anywhere from ten minutes to an hour. While the actual ejaculation happens quickly, two mating dogs often “tie” for up to an hour. During this time they should both stand quietly without trying to move away. The time it takes for a dog to mate will also depend on their experience and emotional state. How many times do dogs need to lock up to get pregnant? How Many Times Should Dogs Mate to Get Pregnant? A total of 3 matings is considered to be sufficient by most experts in the field. After the female starts accepting the male, mating every other day for 6 consecutive days will most likely lead to pregnancy. How many times do dogs need to mate to get pregnant? How many times should she mate to become pregnant? Answer: Once may be enough. However, to ensure that all of the eggs released by your Lab are fertilized, I always let my dogs mate every two days Discuss this on the episode on optimizing testosterone and estrogen. So if you'd like more details on that, please see that episode of the Huberman Lab podcast. Okay, so if melatonin is suppressive to the so-called gonadal axis and reduces overall levels of testosterone and estrogen in males and females and light inhibits melatonin, then when there's more light, then there's less melatonin and more hormone output from the gonads. And indeed, that's how the system works, but that's not the entire story. It turns out that there is a second so-called parallel pathway, meaning a different biological pathway that operates in parallel to the light suppression of melatonin pathway that provides a basis for longer days, inspiring more desire to mate and more mating behavior. So if we think of the first pathway involving melatonin as sort of a brake on these reproductive hormones, the second mechanism is more like an accelerator on those hormones, and yet it still involves light.Andrew Huberman:As I'm about to tell you, in animals such as mice, but also in humans, exposure to light, in particular UV blue light, so short wavelengths of light, can trigger increases in testosterone and estrogen and the desire to mate. Now, what's especially important about this accelerator on the desire to mate and mating behavior and hormones is that it is driven by exposure to light, but it is not the exposure of light to the eyes. It turns out that it is the exposure of your skin to particular wavelengths of light that is triggering increases in the hormones testosterone and estrogen, leading to increased desire to mate. As it turns out, your skin, which most of us just think of as a way to protect the organs of our body — or something to hang clothes on or ornaments on if you're somebody who has earrings and so forth — your skin is actually an endocrine organ, meaning it is a hormone-producing and hormone-influencing organ. I promise what I'm about to tell you next will forever change the way that you think about your skin and light and the desire to mate and, indeed, even mating behavior.Andrew Huberman:I think the results are best understood by simply going through the primary data, meaning the actual research on this topic. And to do so, I'm going to review a recent paper that was published in the journal Cell Reports, Cell Press journal, excellent journal. This is a paper that came out in 2021, entitled "Skin exposure to UVB light induces a skin-brain-gonad axis and sexual behavior." And I want to emphasize that this was a paper that focused on mice in order to address specific mechanisms, because inLab Mate synonyms - 7 Words and Phrases for Lab Mate

Sonicware also state that Korg Volca PSU are compatible. Of course Korg don´t give measurements in their tech specs. Thomann sells the Korg KA-350 PSU that should match Volca series and has 4.8. He is a wonderful dog, has passed all health tests and has 40 field trial champions in his 5 generation pedigree (if memory serves). We have decided that at some point in the future we would like a puppy from him, but have no clue how to go about doing this? I'm sure that with his pedigree, he would be an attractive stud. How would I find him a mate? Thanks. Hi,This is not an advert! I am asking for general advice on how I would go about finding a mate for my dog in several years time. I'm not looking for payment, just want to know the proper way to get a puppy from my male dog.Thanks. Hello and welcome to the forum. I'm sure you can understand that we get plenty of people trying to advertise (all sorts of random things!) on the forum, so Jacqui wasn't being rude, she was just making sure you understood the rules in case you were hoping to find a mate through here. It's certainly not a problem asking questions and for advice I'm not personally knowledgable about the intricacies of breeding, but, having just done a lot of research before buying my latest puppy, I'd say the ball is generally in the court of the bitch owner. So, find a bitch you like the look of (Champdogs is probably as good a place as any to start) and approach the owner. But, be prepared for a lot of knock-backs. Asking around with the kennels in this way may provide you with leads to other breeders who may be more interested; it's a pretty small world out there. You could also talk to people at your local gundog club(s). Be clear about what you want in a bitch and why your dog will make a desirable mate. He doesn't need to just have been health tested, he will need to have great scores. You need to ensure there is a low CoI between him and any prospective mate. You need to be prepared to "sell" him. Just being a lovely dog won't be enough. The fact there's lots of red in your dog's pedigree may make him a bit more desirable than one with none, but serious breeders will be more interested in the stud dog's accolades than what has come before him. And, of course, temperament, looks etc.The article Jacqui linked above is a good one: luck. I hope you find what you're looking for! Changes in atmospheric pressure reduce mating in beetles, moths and aphids. Potato aphids were less interested in mating when pressure changes heralded a storm. Credit: Nigel Cattlin/AlamyPeople have long claimed that animals can predict the weather, for examply by curtailing their activity when rain threatens. Such theories have had little evidence to support them, but now, a team of scientists has found a concrete example: insects shy away from sex in response to the drop in atmospheric pressure that presages rain.Researchers in the lab of José Bento, an entomologist at the University of São Paulo in Brazil, first got the idea of looking at the effect of atmospheric pressure on behaviour when they noticed something strange about their experiments with insects. “On some days, they didn’t work very well, we just didn’t observe much activity in the lab,” says lab member Maria Peñaflor. Most often, she says, this was when rain was predicted. Conditions such as light, temperature and humidity were controlled in the lab, so the researchers wondered whether the insects were reacting to falling pressure to try to protect themselves from damaging rain. With colleagues at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, they tested how three unrelated species — the curcurbit beetle (Diabrotica speciosa), the true armyworm moth (Pseudaletia unipuncta) and the potato aphid (Macrosiphum euphorbiae) — reacted to changes in atmospheric pressure. The results are published today in PLoS ONE1. Not in the mood When atmospheric pressure was dropping rapidly, the male beetles became much less responsive to female pheromones. If placed close to female beetles they would still mate, but most skipped their usual courtship behaviours and went straight to copulation — as if they were trying to get it over with quickly, before a deadly storm arrived. The moths and aphids had similar reactions. The females of both small, light insects reduced their 'calling' behaviour — wafting sex pheromones to attract mates — when rain threatened. Rising pressure, which can signal the approach of windy conditions, also put the creatures off their stride: female aphids, which must balance precariously on the edge of leaves to call, reduced their calling. Males of both species were less responsive to calling in both rising and falling pressure conditions than when the pressure was stable.Bernard Roitberg, an entomologist at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada, thinks that the researchers' explanation for the changes in behaviour is correct.
