The Broadcast Clock Creator - The Broadcast Clock Creator

Sep 17, 2009 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- For years broadcast professionals have planned each hour of the day by drawing a circle on a piece of paper using a protractor and dividing up the hour using a ruler. They would then decide when to take commercial breaks, when to air traffic and weather reports and so on.This was not a professional way to create a show clock and if a mistake was made, the process had to start over. The only other option was to purchase expensive graphic software and then ask the graphics department for help - and hope to receive the clock on time. That's why DLD Media developed The Broadcast Clock Creator.Create a Variety of Broadcast Show Clocks. Easily Add, Remove, Insert and Adjust Segments. Custom Colors and Fonts for Text and Segments. Modify the Styles, Layout and Appearance. Adjust Comments Inside or Outside of the Clock. Add and Modify Text Boxes. Insert Images and Logos. Export to PDF for Websites. Save Clocks for Future Use....and more!Program changes can occur quickly and The Broadcast Clock Creator was developed by a broadcaster with day to day operations and programming needs in mind. Its high quality, versatile design will allow anyone to quickly and easily create broadcast clocks for use on the web, sales calls, staff training and for program changes. The best part is that once a clock has been created, it can be saved for any future revisions or printouts, and all clocks can be exported to a PDF file for mass distribution and for displaying on websites. All of these features, plus a dedicated support network, make The Broadcast Clock Creator perfect for local or syndicated broadcasts!Throw out the protractor and ruler and order a copy of The Broadcast Clock Creator today for only $19.95!Copyright - 2009 The Broadcast Clock Creator - All Rights Reserved - DLD Media & Software Development.DLD Media & Software Development Ext. 54826## # #Read the full story at [ Back To TMCnet.com's Homepage ]

Broadcast clockDigital precision studio/broadcast master clock with WiFi configuration, NTP client/server and GPS time sync.DetailsYou'll find a complete project description on my personal home page. The enclosure is an 25x25 cm IKEA "Sannahed" photo frame, which is deep enough to encapsulate the circuitry. I replaced the provided plexi glass with a dark acrylic glass plate. There are no traditional buttons to control the clock. Instead, it has a browser based web configurator. When powered on, the clock will expose a dedicated wifi network for 30 seconds. Connect to the network in order to access the clock's control panel. The clock supports time synchronization over the web (NTP) or via a range of GNSS satellite systems (GPS/QZSS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo). It acts as a highly accurate NTP time server for other clocks on your LAN.LED brightness is auto-adjusted to ambient light conditions. This feature can be overridden in the control panel. It also has a stopwatch and a countdown timer that is operated from the browser interface.. Host systems, and a publicly available version for systems running UNIX and its various derivatives is also available. This software also allows UNIX-derivative servers to acquire the time directly from an atomic clock, which would subsequently propagate time information along to Cisco routers. The communications between machines running NTP (known as associations) are usually statically configured; each machine is given the IP address of all machines with which it should form associations. Accurate timekeeping is made possible by exchanging NTP messages between each pair of machines with an association. The Cisco implementation of NTP supports two ways that a networking device can obtain NTP time information on a network: By polling host servers By listening to NTP broadcasts In a LAN environment, NTP can be configured to use IP broadcast messages. As compared to polling, IP broadcast messages reduce configuration complexity, because each machine can simply be configured to send or receive broadcast or multicast messages. However, the accuracy of timekeeping is marginally reduced because the information flow is one-way only. An NTP broadcast client listens for broadcast messages sent by an NTP broadcast server at a designated IPv4 address. The client synchronizes the local clock using the first received broadcast message. The time kept on a machine is a critical resource, so we strongly recommend that you use the security features of NTP to avoid the accidental or malicious setting of incorrect time. Two mechanisms are available: an access list-based restriction scheme and an encrypted authentication mechanism. When multiple sources of time (VINES, hardware clock, manual configuration) are available, NTP is always considered to be more authoritative. NTP time overrides the time set by any other method. Note NTP associations will not be formed if the packets received are from a VRF which is different from the VRF that

Source IP address is taken from the outgoing interface. prefer : Sets this peer as the preferred one that provides synchronization. This keyword reduces switching back and forth between peers. Use the no form of this command to remove a peer association. Step 4 [no] ntp server [vrf vrf-name] ip-address [version number] [key key-id] [source interface] [prefer] Example: Device(config)# ntp server 172.16.22.44 version 2 Configures the device's system clock to be synchronized by a time server (server association). vrf-name : The virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) address of the server providing the clock synchronization. Note Before you configure this command, the VRF must be configured. ip-address : The IP address of the time server providing the clock synchronization. number : NTP version number. The range is 1 to 3. By default, version 3 is selected. key-id : Authentication key defined with the ntp authentication-key command. interface : The interface from which to pick the IP source address. By default, the source IP address is taken from the outgoing interface. prefer : Sets this peer as the preferred one that provides synchronization. This keyword reduces clock hop among peers. Use the no form of this command to remove a server association. Step 5 end Example: Device(config)# end Returns to privileged EXEC mode. Configuring Broadcast-Based NTP Associations To configure broadcast-based NTP associations, perform this procedure: Procedure Command or Action Purpose Step 1 enable Example: Device> enable Enables privileged EXEC mode. Enter your password if prompted. Step 2 configure terminal Example: Device# configure terminal Enters global configuration mode. Step 3 interface interface-id Example: Device(config)# interface gigabitethernet1/0/1 Configures an interface and enters interface configuration mode. Step 4 [no] ntp broadcast [version number] [key key-id] [destination-address] Example: Device(config-if)# ntp broadcast version 2 Enables the interface to send NTP broadcast packets to a peer. number :
